The lawyer spoke about this in a conversation with RIA Novosti.

“My client did not admit and does not admit guilt,” the agency’s interlocutor said.

Earlier, the Second Court of Cassation commuted Michael Calvey's suspended sentence by two months.

The Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case in which Calvey became a defendant on February 13, 2019. The investigation took the view that Calvey organized a scheme as a result of which a loan of 2.5 billion rubles received by the First Collection Bureau company from Vostochny Bank in 2015 was offset by the assignment of shares.

In addition, according to the investigation, Calvey misled the board of directors of the bank on the issue of the value of shares of the First Collection Bureau. The IC believes that the shares were valued at the amount of the debt, with their real value being 600 thousand rubles.
