“We cannot prohibit foreign citizens from voting on the territory of their countries’ embassies. But opening sites on the left bank of the Dniester or in other populated areas, but especially in uncontrolled, separatist territories, is wrong and illegal,” he complained.

According to RIA Novosti, Grosu said that Russia had opened sites in Transnistria before, but this happened before Action and Solidarity came to power. In his opinion, it was “illegal and a conspiracy.”

“We urge you to refrain from opening sites on the left bank of the Dniester. Otherwise, we can do something if polling stations for the Russian presidential elections are opened in the Transnistrian region without the consent of the Moldovan authorities,” Grossu said on the evening broadcast of private Jurnal TV.

He did not disclose details of the party’s plans to interfere with the elections, but noted that the government would study the issue from the point of view of introducing prohibitory measures, “after all, those who will be involved in organizing the elections will need human resources,” and they “need to somehow get” into the country.

The head of the Russian Central Election Commission, Ella Pamfilova, previously stated that Moldova, with Maia Sandu coming to power, began to artificially reduce the number of polling stations for the Russian presidential elections and open their own as much as possible in European countries.
