Every morning, Jean Zeid delivers the best in terms of innovation. This Thursday, he is interested in the Drive tout nu brand which will open a “zero waste” Super tout nu next March where customers will be able to drive or circulate in physical aisles to do their shopping in bulk.

This Friday morning, the bulk is going to the supermarket.

Head to the Toulouse region with the Drive tout nu brand which will open a “zero waste” supermarket in Labège, south of the Ville Rose with the aim of democratizing access to bulk goods.

Driving naked has nothing to do with naturism. No one will be naked in the store. Created in 2018, the first Drive tout nu offered customers a simple principle: you place your order online, you choose your collection slot; the brand prepares it and packages the products in reusable packaging, such as glass jars and canvas bags. Finally, you collect your shopping in one of the brand's drives. Customers can even return empty containers to put them back into the circuit.

Farmers have been at the heart of the news for several days and this brand has opted for a short circuit.

Alongside zero waste, the Drive tout Nu practices local. The producers with whom she works are less than 100 kilometers from Toulouse, more than half of them. Organic or similar organic products. If they are not certified, agricultural engineers even go to the farms to ensure the techniques in place

Paradox: the bulk market is not in good shape.

Bulk sales have not taken off since the health crisis, a bulk market which is struggling to return to its pre-Covid standards. The main obstacles are concerns about hygiene and prices that are not always advantageous.

Which does not prevent this Drive tout Nu from opening its Super tout nu next March, a “zero waste” supermarket of 800 m². Modest compared to the 48,000 m² of the Leclerc supermarket in Labège 2 for example, still in the Toulouse region.

But Salomé Géraud, co-founder with her husband Pierre of Drive tout nu, has an unstoppable argument: today supermarket sales represent 92% of the grocery market, compared to 8% for drive.

In this new establishment, customers will be able to drive or go through physical aisles to do their shopping in bulk.

According to a study, the brand helped save nearly 800,000 packages in 2023.

The brand which also opened its capital to its customers.

€500,000 to subscribe under the same conditions as professional investors, this takes place on the Crowdcube platform with a possible investment from €100 to make it as accessible as possible.
