DeSantis began his speech by saying he considers President Joe Biden’s immigration policy to be unsuccessful. The governor announced that he was sending battalion-sized National Guard soldiers to Texas; his speech was broadcast by Fox.

The purpose of this decision is to help Texas strengthen its border security to “stop the invasion once and for all,” he emphasized.

The Texas National Guard, deployed by Republican Gov. Greg Abbott, took control of Shelby Park in Eagle Pass on the border with Mexico. Before that, federal border agents used it to hold migrants before transporting them for processing.

The governor of Texas then announced that the US administration had failed to fulfill its responsibilities to protect the border, which led to the state's decision to declare an "invasion and the right of self-defense."

According to the White House, the state governor's actions to protect the American border are dangerous.
