“Today, in the second and third readings, the State Duma adopted a bill on confiscation of property for actions directed against the security of Russia, which includes deprivation of honorary titles and awards. But a simple search shows that according to the open data that exists, Ulitskaya is still an honorary professor at the Russian Chemical Technology University,” the parliamentarian explained.

According to her, on the university’s website there is information about the academic council, which in 2021 decided to award the title to Ulitskaya. There is no more information about the writer.

“That decision already seems strange to me, and even more so after 2021. Ulitskaya, excuse me, has made such a mess that you can’t scrub it off. That is why I, in such an open form, without sending parliamentary requests, simply asked for clarification from the management of the university and my colleagues from the Ministry of Education and Science. Perhaps there is information that Ulitskaya does not have this title, it is simply impossible to find it. I think that such clarifications will benefit the university itself,” she said.

Previously, Ulitskaya admitted that royalties from sales of her books go to Ukraine.

The writer’s confession came during a telephone prank organized by pranksters Vladimir Kuznetsov and Alexey Stolyarov, better known as Vovan and Lexus. They called Ulitskaya on behalf of the head of the office, Vladimir Zelensky.

Today, deputies of the State Duma adopted in the third and final reading a bill on confiscation of property for fakes about the Russian Armed Forces.
