On the 31st, the Home Affairs and Youth Affairs Bureau of the Hong Kong SAR Government cooperated with Hong Kong Cyberport Management Co., Ltd. and Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation to launch the "Youth Startup Internship Program 2024" (referred to as the "Program") for Hong Kong.   The Home Affairs and Youth Affairs Bureau of the SAR Government will cooperate with the Hong Kong Cyberport for the first time in 2021 to launch the program in a pilot form, providing a total of 100 internship opportunities for Hong Kong youth in start-up companies.

  Based on the success of the pilot program, the Bureau regularized and expanded the program last year, adding the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park as a co-organizer, and providing a total of 200 start-up internship positions with the Hong Kong Cyberport. The program aims to cultivate Hong Kong youth’s interest in innovation and technology, while cultivating talents for the industry to support the development of Hong Kong’s innovation and technology industry.

  Under the new round of the scheme, Hong Kong Cyberport and Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks will continue to provide a total of 200 internship positions lasting three to six months, covering data analysis, financial technology, artificial intelligence applications, business development and marketing, etc. Participating businesses can hire interns on a full-time, part-time or hybrid basis. Applicants must be local full-time post-secondary students in Hong Kong (including sub-degree, bachelor's and postgraduate courses).

  In addition to internships, Hong Kong Cyberport and Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks will also provide interns with a series of training and entrepreneurial experience activities, as well as visits to start-up companies in mainland cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
