At a security conference held on the 31st, South Korean President Yoon Seong-yeol stated that, ahead of the general election this April, North Korea is making various threats, including threats near the military demarcation line and cyberattacks. He pointed out that such provocations are expected, and emphasized that he would take all possible precautions to respond.

During the meeting, President Yoon Seong-ryul said of North Korea, ``It is the only irrational group in the world that has legislated the first use of nuclear weapons. It has recently engaged in arms deals with Russia, and is violating international law and UN security. "This is a blatant disregard for the Council's resolutions," he said, and harshly criticized North Korea for its repeated launches of cruise missiles and shelling at sea.

He then touched on the general election that will be held in South Korea this April, saying, ``In years when there are important political dates, the North has always carried out social disturbances and provocations. "We anticipate a variety of provocations, including intimidation, drone intrusion, dissemination of false information, and cyberattacks, including interference in elections," he said, emphasizing that he will take all possible precautions to respond.

The meeting was attended by officials from the government, local governments, military, police, and other organizations, and discussions included measures to protect citizens in the event of an attack by North Korea.

Earlier this year, North Korean General Secretary Kim Jong-un called South Korea the "main enemy" and emphasized a confrontational stance, saying, "We have no intention of avoiding war." We are prepared to take countermeasures against any provocation.
