During an informal meeting of the heads of defense departments of the European Union countries in Brussels, Backes noted that we are talking about the assistance that Luxembourg has been providing to Ukraine over the past two years.

According to the agency, defense spending in Luxembourg in 2022 amounted to about €0.56 billion, and in 2023 - about €0.57 billion. In turn, the defense budget of Germany, which is one of the main donors to Ukraine in the community, amounted to about €50.33 billion in 2022.

Earlier, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz called the assistance provided by the European Union to Ukraine insufficient.
