Iran's envoy to the United Nations, Amir Saeed Irani, warned that Tehran will respond decisively to any attack targeting its territory, interests, or nationals abroad, according to what was reported in official Iranian media on Wednesday.

The Iranian envoy's warning to the United Nations comes after US President Joe Biden announced yesterday, Tuesday, that he had made a decision on how to respond to the attack that targeted an American military base in Jordan, killing 3 American soldiers and wounding dozens of others.

Biden said during a press conference yesterday in response to a question about Iran, “I hold them responsible, meaning that they are supplying weapons to the people who carried out this (attack).”

Biden did not provide further details about the American response he promised, but US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby later stated that the response may be gradual, and may include several measures.

The Hezbollah Brigades in Iraq - which claimed responsibility for the drone attack, which targeted the logistical support base at Tower 22 of the Jordanian defense network - announced yesterday, Tuesday, the suspension of its military and security operations against American forces.

She explained that the decision aims to prevent any embarrassment to the Iraqi government, against the backdrop of the repercussions of the attack, which is the first attack to inflict human losses on American forces since the outbreak of the Al-Aqsa flood on the seventh of last October.

Kataib Hezbollah confirmed in its statement in this regard that Iran does not know how to operate and has often objected to its escalation against American forces.

Several members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard were killed in Israeli strikes in Syria, with five of its members killed on January 20, and two others on December 25.

The day before yesterday, Monday, another Israeli raid hit what the Iranian Tasnim news agency described as an "Iranian military advisory center" in Syria, killing two, but Iran's envoy to Syria denied details related to the target and said that the victims were not Iranians.

On January 15, Iran attacked what it said was an Israeli “spy headquarters” in the semi-autonomous Iraqi Kurdistan region.
