The France Médias Monde group has obtained the "Journalism Trust Initiative" (JTI) certification offered by Reporters Without Borders, receiving the maximum score of 100% on the entire evaluation. France Médias Monde meets or exceeds the minimum recommended threshold for each certification criterion.

Designed as an international professional ISO standard, the JTI is an approach initiated by

Reporters Without Borders

, an NGO which monitors

press freedom

and human rights, to promote free and independent information throughout the world through indicators assessing the reliability of journalism and compliance with ethical and deontological standards of information.

The certification, which is based on a questionnaire of nearly 200 questions, assesses the editorial organization (ethics, independence of editorial staff, protection of sources, accuracy, transparency, etc.), the nature of financing, the independence of governance and the legal organization, or even the social management of the company.

All of the responses provided by France Médias Monde, parent company of the France 24, Monte Carlo Doualiya and RFI media, to this evaluation are made public on the JTI platform (jti-app.com) in its transparency report. This was the subject of an external audit by an independent third-party organization (Deloitte) which certified the accuracy of the report and the compliance of France Médias Monde with the ethical and professional standards of the JTI.

In an international context marked by the worsening of manipulation and fake news, obtaining this certification reaffirms the status and major role of the France Médias Monde media in providing free, independent, verified and balanced information to its global audiences, in French and 20 foreign languages.
