The European Union (EU) has announced that it will extend the suspension of tariffs on imports from Ukraine in support of the country's invasion from Russia. On the other hand, the government also took measures to take into account the concerns of farmers in the region, such as reimposing tariffs on certain agricultural products whose imports are increasing under certain conditions.

The EU has suspended tariffs on imports from Ukraine since 2022, when the Russian invasion began, as part of its support for Ukraine.

On January 31, the European Commission, the EU's executive agency, announced that it would extend this measure for another year, calling it ``a necessary support measure at a critical juncture in the war.''

Meanwhile, within the EU, countries such as Hungary have banned the import of agricultural products from Ukraine, as farmers are suffering harm from the influx of relatively cheap agricultural products from Ukraine, and farmers have protested in France and other countries. I am.

For this reason, the European Commission has introduced measures to address farmers' concerns, such as imposing tariffs on sugar, eggs, and poultry, three items whose imports are increasing in particular, if imports exceed a certain amount. That's what I'm trying to do.

As the invasion drags on, the EU is faced with the need to balance continued support for Ukraine with its regional impact.
