The Triangle Mountain Post located at the western foot of the Greater Khingan Mountains is responsible for guarding the area from Aershan to Songbeier Port on the China-Mongolia border. The camouflage-colored sentry tower stands on the top of the mountain, guarding the northern frontier of the motherland like a guard.

　　On the eve of the Spring Festival in 2014, a "veteran" was welcomed here.

　　Wearing a camouflage winter training combat uniform, he saw patrol officers and soldiers on the way to the border line. He got out of the car and checked the patrol equipment while understanding the status of his duties. Facing the officers and soldiers who gathered around him, he said emotionally: "You crawled on the ice and lay in the snow to patrol and guard the motherland. The motherland and the people are grateful to you!"

　　This "veteran" is none other than President Xi Jinping. The four words "climbing on ice and lying on snow" vividly demonstrate the harsh natural conditions of the northern border and the tenacious qualities of the border guards who are not afraid of wind and snow. They also convey President Xi's heartfelt concern for the soldiers.

　　The snow crunched under his feet. President Xi saw ice on the eyelashes of the soldiers and frost on their windshields. He took off his gloves and held the hand of a soldier tightly, asking: "Cold weather Are you comfortable with it? How many hours and kilometers do you need to patrol every day?”

　　In February of the following year, President Xi Jinping wrote back to the officers and soldiers of a company of a border defense regiment of the Inner Mongolia Military Region where the Triangle Mountain post is located, encouraging them to promote the goal of strengthening the army and take root in the company and border defense, and to make new contributions to building a security and stability barrier in northern Xinjiang of the motherland!
