As Konstantin Blokhin Blokhin, a researcher at the Center for Security Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, emphasized, “the situation is very difficult.”

“It’s quite difficult to simply remove a person from the Democratic Party working under the Joe Biden administration. For impeachment, you also need the consent of the Senate, and the Senate belongs to the Democrats, that is, for impeachment you need literally everyone to vote: both Republicans and Democrats,” the specialist explained.

In his opinion, some kind of “scapegoat, sacred victim” is needed.

“From the point of view of the Biden administration, in order not to pry Texas again, not to issue ultimatums, but to somehow solve this problem, it would be possible to solve this problem with little blood, blaming not the migrants, not the Texas authorities, but someone from his subordinates, this would be such a balanced decision,” Blokhin added.

American political scientist Malek Dudakov believes that it is necessary to understand that there will be no real impeachment.

“The House of Representatives, quite possibly, will vote for this, the Senate, which is controlled by the Democrats, will not vote for the removal of Mayorkas, and the Democrats, of course, will not drown their own president and his cabinet of ministers,” the political scientist emphasized.

He also clarified that the main reason for this impeachment is the “depressing” situation on the southern border of the United States, which is “broken through by hundreds of thousands of illegal migrants every month.”

“In December, for example, more than three hundred thousand illegal immigrants crossed the southern border, and Republicans in Congress accuse Mayorkas of not fighting this, which is quite fair,” Dudakov said.

The expert noted that they “will try to inflict approximately the same articles of impeachment on Joe Biden in the coming months.”

“Another thing is that there will be no real impeachment here either. And what is happening now is just some kind of political circus. And the fact that Republicans are expressing their indignation at the Biden administration’s reluctance to perform the basic function of the state, namely protecting its own border,” he concluded.

Earlier, the relevant committee of the US House of Representatives supported the impeachment procedure against the head of the United States Department of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas, against the backdrop of the fact that he allegedly did not take sufficient measures to combat illegal migration.
