An explosion at the

San Fernando Institute in Badajoz

has left two

11-year-old

teenagers in serious condition who were later transferred to the

pediatric ICU of the Maternal and Child Hospital,

as reported this Wednesday by the Urgent and Emergency Care Center 112 Extremadura.

Both minors have suffered

third-degree burns to their face and extremities

while carrying out an experiment in the school laboratory.

The emergency services received the notification at around 7:49 p.m. and paramedics from the Extremadura Health Service (SES) traveled to the scene of the event, who also transported an Emergency Medical Unit; Red Cross, the Firefighters of the Badajoz City Council; and agents of the Local Police and the National Police Corps.
