[EUROPE ARCHIVE 1 - The extraordinary stories of Pierre Bellemare] In Caravaggio, a small town in the Milan region, is the large building of Vittorio M.

In his castle lives his niece, the very beautiful Rita. She is the daughter of his brother, who disappeared in North Africa during the war. It is said that Rita's mother, a young Turk, left her in the care of this uncle before returning to live in her country. But when Rita is only sixteen years old, she decides to flee Vittorio's home with the intention of living in France with a young man. In February 1952, the couple was arrested at the border in possession of drugs. Although the court judges Rita "irresponsible", she is taken to a rehabilitation center for young girls where she spends two years with an educator, Enzo. This is how young Rita confides about her life. She evokes the stifling protection of Vittorio, the inappropriate gestures of this uncle towards his mother, then the sudden disappearance of his mother. At the end of these two years in a rehabilitation center, Rita must return to the home of her legal guardian, Vittorio M. But after some time, suspicions begin to arise among her educator: why does Rita no longer respond to his letters ? He then decides to go to Caravaggio but Rita has disappeared. In her room, all that remains is a pile of dresses displayed like in a museum. Near a landfill, a body is found. It's Rita's mother's. Is Vittorio responsible for this murder? What did he do with the girl? Pierre Bellemare tells this incredible story in this episode of the podcast “The extraordinary stories of Pierre Bellemare”, from the Europe 1 archives and produced by Europe 1 Studio.
