“Today, at the request of the investigator of the Investigative Committee, the court chose a preventive measure against her in the form of detention for a period of two months,” the department said in a statement.

According to the investigation, on January 28, the woman recorded a video message in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, after which she set fire to the school using a flammable liquid. She distributed the video message among the parents of her students, as well as on the Internet. 

Based on this incident, a case was initiated against her under Part 1 of Art. 205 of the Criminal Code of Russia (“Terrorist act”). At the same time, a case was opened against her under Part 1 of Art. 161 of the Criminal Code of Russia (“Robbery”), since she is suspected of stealing gold jewelry from a jewelry store in Cheboksary.

Earlier, the Investigative Committee reported that the attackers forced a teacher from Cheboksary to set fire to the school and salute the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The head of Cheboksary, Denis Spirin, said that he keeps under personal control the development of the story of the incident at secondary school No. 10, where the teacher tried to commit arson.
