Military expert Major General Fayez Al-Duwairi said that the return of clashes around Al-Shifa Hospital in the central Gaza Strip is due to the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) gradually rebuilding its administrative capabilities.

Al-Duwairi pointed to the previous statements of Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant, who announced the elimination of Hamas, then retracted and said that pockets of the movement cannot be eliminated, without specifying specific areas, adding, “After entering the third phase and the decline of clashes in the north, Hamas reorganized its forces there.”

He added, "Now Hamas has begun a gradual return to civil administration in the north, which made the Israeli Chief of Staff feel threatened, and this is what prompted him to talk in the past about the possibility of eroding achievements and the necessity of carrying out a broader military operation."

According to Al-Duwairi, the Israeli forces stood about 15 kilometers from the fence, “and whenever they detected movement or information, they entered into a clash, as happened in Jabal Al-Rayes and Jabalia, from which they retreated again.”

He added, "In the area from Juhr al-Dik to Al-Rashid Street, Israel used fire dams to prevent the return of residents, but it did not prevent the Al-Qassam Brigades - the military wing of Hamas - from intervening, which led to the development of clashes and the arrival of the Israelis to the intelligence and Shifa towers, but they are moving in these areas and are not It is established in it.”

He concluded that the re-siege of Al-Shifa Hospital was due to the Israelis’ desire to eliminate all aspects of life after destroying the infrastructure and homes.

According to the military expert, four brigades are currently fighting around Gaza City, and they include commandos, armored vehicles, and paratroopers, in addition to the Givati Brigade.
