A spokesperson for Yemen's Houthi rebel group responded to an interview with NHK, justifying attacks on ships in the Red Sea and other areas, and claiming that they would repeat similar attacks in the future.

The Houthi rebel group, which controls northern Yemen, has repeatedly attacked ships sailing through the Red Sea in a show of solidarity with the Islamic group Hamas, while American and British forces launched raids on Houthi strongholds this month. They are on the offensive, and the exchange of attacks continues.

Against this backdrop, Houthi spokesman Abed Tolle responded to an online interview with NHK on the 29th.

In this, the spokesperson asserted the legitimacy of attacks on ships in the Red Sea and elsewhere, saying, ``The United States and the United Kingdom attacked Yemen. We are at war with both countries.''

He added, ``We have never hit the wrong target and we have not had any impact on maritime transport. The United States is the one who is having a negative impact on maritime transport.'' They blamed it for having a negative impact on transportation.

Spokesperson Toll also stated, ``We have no intention of escalating tensions in the entire region. If Israel stops attacking the Gaza Strip, our attacks will end.'' However, the Israeli attack ceased. They have emphasized that they will continue to carry out similar attacks on ships until they do so, raising concerns about the impact on global maritime transport.
