The Houthi group confirmed that it is prepared for a long confrontation with the United States and Britain against the backdrop of their launching air strikes on the group's military sites.

The group's Minister of Defense, Major General Muhammad al-Atifi, said in an extraordinary meeting today, Tuesday, with the commanders of the Houthi naval forces and coastal defense, "The Americans, the British, and those who coordinated with them must realize the strength of the sovereign Yemeni decision and that there is no debate or dispute over it," stressing that "Yemen is higher and stronger." It is more severe than it will be shaken by the American, British, and Israeli raids.”

Al-Atifi explained that the American administration is “tampering with the system of international values through the standards it sets in a way that serves its political whims, wars, and aggression against people, especially the Yemeni people.”

He considered that the American regime's classification of the positions of the Yemeni people in support of Gaza as terrorism was ridiculous, and he added, threatening, "We tell them from the Red Sea that we are the ones who put the painful end to American hegemony, which writes its end in its own hands."

Cooper: Houthi missiles and drones can hit their target within 75 seconds (Associated Press)

Target hitting speed

Commander of the US Fifth Fleet, Charles Bradford Cooper, told CBS yesterday, Monday, that Houthi missiles and drones can hit their target within 75 seconds once they are launched.

He said, "We only have between 9 and 15 seconds to make a decision to shoot down a missile or drone," stressing that no one has ever targeted commercial ships or US Navy ships with ballistic missiles.

It is noteworthy that the US Fifth Fleet is a fleet affiliated with the Navy, and is based in the territorial waters opposite Bahrain.

Since mid-November, the Houthis have been targeting Israeli ships or those heading to Israeli ports in the Red Sea until the Israeli aggression on the besieged Gaza Strip stops and aid enters.

Tensions in the Red Sea have entered a stage of escalation since the Houthis directly targeted an American ship on January 9.

In response to the attack on the ships, American and British warplanes have been launching raids on Houthi military sites in various parts of Yemen since January 12.

On the other hand, the Houthis confirm that these strikes do not affect their military capabilities, and that they will continue their attacks until the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip stops.
