This incident attracted the attention of netizens on the island and triggered a heated discussion on the PTT gossip board in the Taiwan Internet forum. Some netizens on the island said, "Taiwanese cars are extremely expensive. Cheap cars only need to be safe to control their ideology." "Like it, cheap cars hurry up." "Come on, Taiwan's plate prices are too long." "I hope to bring down the overall car price, just don't make it all expensive." Some netizens said directly, "When will the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV be launched in Taiwan?"

Some netizens left messages in the comment area of Taiwan media, saying, "Great! It's been a long wait!" "Support, it's best to open up everything else" "Be optimistic about the success, it's a blessing for Taiwanese consumers!" "There are cheap electric cars to buy. Not bad." Some netizens said that cars produced in mainland China should not be underestimated. They are not what they used to be, and they have experienced it personally.

Taiwan's "Wang Bao" published an editorial stating that the growth of the mainland's automobile industry is an opportunity for Taiwan's related industries. Taiwan has accumulated rich experience in electronic components, tires, automotive interiors and other fields, and is a long-term supplier to many well-known brands around the world. In the field of new energy vehicles, Taiwan also has technological advantages. Battery systems, electric engines, smart lights, bodies and chassis are all strengths. For a long time, "Taiwanese parts" have been synonymous with high CP value (performance-price ratio) in the mainland auto parts market, reflecting mainland customers' recognition of Taiwanese manufacturing. The automotive industries on both sides of the Taiwan Strait have their own strengths. The mainland has a complete industrial system, rapid technological updates, and large market access. Taiwan has a complete supply chain in the automotive electronics industry and has technological leadership. The integration of Taiwanese companies into the mainland's automotive supply chain will enhance the supply chain's resilience and ability to resist risks.

Earlier, Chery officially created "Chery Taiwan" on Facebook and began to update professional content last year. It has released multiple promotional videos for a medium-sized sports utility vehicle. Many Taiwanese netizens asked on this account when the car will be launched in Taiwan. The account replied that the preparations for the car to be launched in Taiwan are currently in full swing and I believe it will happen soon.
