Al Jazeera monitored attempts by civil defense teams to recover bodies and injured people from various areas in the Gaza Strip, and pictures showed bodies lying in the streets, including women and children.

One of the injured said that the occupation army dropped shells on them without warning, noting that he remained under the rubble for 12 hours until the Civil Defense reached him.

He added that he could hear the voice of a girl calling for help from under the rubble, but he was unable to move from his place because he was under the rubble.

Civil defense teams were pulling injured people out from under the rubble, despite the heavy rain falling on their heads.
