China News Service, Paris, January 30 (Reporter Li Yang) On January 30, local time, the "Silk Road Porcelain Tour" - a special exhibition of China's Jingdezhen ceramic culture opened at the China Cultural Center in Paris.

This special exhibition is co-sponsored by the Chinese Cultural Center in Paris, the Information Office of the Jiangxi Provincial People's Government, the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, and the Jingdezhen Municipal People's Government. Chen Li, Minister of the Chinese Embassy in France, Anne-Marie Pierre, wife of former French Prime Minister Raffarin, Yannick Linz, Director of the National Museum of Asian Art in Guimet, France, Liu Hongge, Director of the Chinese Cultural Center in Paris, Jiangxi Province Jingdezhen Municipal Party Committee Propaganda Vice Minister Dong Zhen and others attended the meeting.

Chen Li said that Jingdezhen, as China's "Porcelain Capital", has produced countless porcelain works of exquisite shape and superb craftsmanship for thousands of years. Chinese porcelain and French porcelain have many similarities and differences. Just like the Chinese and French people, they have been able to understand and appreciate each other over the past 60 years despite their differences. This special exhibition on ceramic culture is a bridge of communication between Chinese and French cultures. We hope that guests can appreciate the eternal beauty of porcelain and the extraordinary charm of art that transcends national boundaries through this exhibition.

Liu Hongge said in his welcome speech that China and France will celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the China-France Year of Culture and Tourism in 2024, which is an opportunity to focus on the field of cultural tourism, explore new directions of cooperation, and drive a new round of exchanges between China and France. As one of the key opening activities of the Year of Culture and Tourism, this "Silk Road Porcelain Tour" special exhibition aims to showcase the history and culture of Chinese ceramics and contemporary innovative development, continue classic works, and recreate the glory of art.

Linzi said that this year is the Chinese culture theme year of the Guimei Museum, and the museum will hold an exhibition on Chinese monochrome glazed porcelain from June to September. It is hoped that Sino-French cultural cooperation and artistic dialogue will be further strengthened to add luster to the Sino-French Cultural Tourism Year. Dong Zhen said that with the exchanges along the Maritime and Continental Silk Road, Jingdezhen, which has a history of more than 2,000 years of pottery, has used "porcelain culture" as a messenger for the interaction of human civilization and has become an important window for China to go to the world and for the world to understand China. Ceramics also bear witness to the profound brotherhood between China and France.

The guests then watched the exhibition, and Yue Jun, Director of Jingdezhen Art Museum, explained the exhibition to Mrs. Raffarin, Minister Chen Li and Director Linz. After the opening ceremony, a lecture with the theme of "Historicity and Contemporaryness of Ceramic Art" was held. The speaker, Yue Jun, explained the concepts of pottery and porcelain, an overview of the historical development of Chinese ceramics, and an overview of contemporary expressions of ceramic art. It tells the historical context and innovative pursuit of ceramic culture.

Mrs. Raffarin said after visiting the exhibition that this exhibition was very exciting, allowing the public to see the contemporary achievements in the development of ceramics in Jingdezhen, China, and complementing the 2004 Jingdezhen Ceramic Masterpiece Exhibition.

This special exhibition is the first opening event of the China-France Culture and Tourism Year. It displays 48 items from five themes: "Silk Road Voyage", "Porcelain Language New Realm", "China's Colors", "Porcelain World" and "Concord and Nations". A masterpiece.
