The material claims that in this way the Chinese authorities intend to put pressure on the administration of the island in peacetime and prevent American ships from approaching Taiwan if a conflict arises in the region.
It is also reported that another Chinese ship is located northwest of the disputed Senkaku Islands in the East China Sea, the area around which Tokyo considers its territorial waters.
Earlier, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, at a meeting with US Presidential Assistant for National Security Jake Sullivan, said that the problem of “Taiwan independence” is the main challenge for relations between Beijing and Washington.
As stated in Beijing, China will continue to promote the process of peaceful reunification with Taiwan in 2024.
