The 37-year-old kamikaze driver, who killed himself and two other young people after colliding head-on with another vehicle last Saturday morning on the A-3, drove around 10 kilometers in the opposite direction. The agents of the Traffic Group of the Civil Guard

maintain an open investigation to determine how the events occurred,

although the death of the alleged cause of the fatal accident complicates the investigations.

According to sources from the Corps, the main hypothesis is that the 37-year-old man entered the A-3 through the exit located at kilometer 28, located in the municipality of Arganda, and

circulated for nearly 10 kilometers in opposite direction.

It was at kilometer 18 of the aforementioned highway when he collided with another car, in which five people were traveling, of which two men, aged 23 and 26, died. Of the injured, a 27-year-old man was taken to the Gregorio Marañón hospital, another 22-year-old man was taken to the Ramón y Cajal hospital, and a 19-year-old girl was taken to the La Paz hospital.

At the moment it is unknown if the driver who supposedly caused the accident drove in the wrong direction due to an error or if he was under the influence of alcohol or narcotic substances. Traffic agents are reviewing the security cameras in the area and

trying to locate witnesses to the events

- such as drivers who crossed paths with the kamikaze - to clarify what happened.

The first call to the 112 Emergency Center was recorded around 5:30 a.m. and members of the Community of Madrid Fire Department, Samur-Civil Protection, Summa 112 and the Civil Guard went to the scene. Firefighters rescued the three deceased, who

were trapped in their respective cars.

The two young people who lost their lives occupied the positions of pilot and co-pilot and are residents of Arganda del Rey. One of the two deceased, Aitor, was the son of the co-spokesperson for Más Madrid in the aforementioned town, José Rodríguez, according to what the politician published on his account on the social network X.

His brother indicated yesterday that Aitor never drank while driving:

"You go with the thought that I don't drink so that nothing happens to me, and you come across a crazy person who is going in the opposite direction."

The other deceased, Óscar, was the son of the

owner of a well-known betting and lottery administration

and had lost his father a long time ago.
