The Americanist explained how the conflict between Washington and Texas will be resolved

As the expert emphasized, since Texas is “at the forefront of the problem” and is the first to meet waves of refugees, it views them more negatively.

“It should be noted that Texas is still a Republican state; in the last elections of 2020, all the electors supported the candidacy of Donald Trump, Joe Biden did not receive a single vote in this state. The position of the Republicans and Trump is that immigration laws need to be tightened and we need to work more actively to expel illegal migrants from the United States,” explained RT’s interlocutor.

The Democratic Party, he said, relies heavily on the Latino electorate, so it is “in a more slippery situation.”

The specialist added that if the Biden administration takes “tough action” against migrants, it will lose some votes, and there will still be presidential elections this year.

“There is now a lot of talk that this could lead to a civil war or an increase in confrontation: Texas is the most important state for the American economy, it showed much greater growth last year than other states, specifically Texas GDP growth was 7.7%. Texas is home to a number of high-tech companies; Texas is actively involved in the creation of semiconductors and microelectronics in general. The state is critical to the entire federal system and the federal economy. In his opinion, the solution lies in the reform of immigration laws.

“Since the conflict on this issue is one of the strongest, the United States comes to the need to reform the legislative procedure for the reception or expulsion of migrants by the United States. This will have to be done, it will not be easy, since the positions of the parties are extremely polar. Now the United States is directly addressing this internal conflict, I believe that one way or another it will be settled legislatively; resolving it in favor of one of the two parties is much safer, easier and cheaper than entering into some kind of full-fledged confrontation. I think they will look for a compromise,” concluded Kislitsyn.
