In his address, the political scientist noted that for many years, as part of the implementation of state policy to reduce tobacco smoking in Russian society, retail enterprises have been prohibited from openly displaying tobacco products. It should be visually hidden from store visitors.

At the same time, advertising of tobacco products has been banned in Russia for a long time, Orlov recalled.

At the same time, owners of specialized trading enterprises often use large signs “Tobacco”, “Tobacco shop”, etc. to attract customers, which are placed on buildings and are visible to numerous passers-by, including children, the political scientist noted.

“In this regard, I ask you to consider the advisability of making changes to regulations regarding the introduction of restrictions for commercial retail enterprises on the placement of signs informing about the tobacco specialization of trading activities,” the text of the appeal says.

Previously, deputies developed a bill on a complete ban in Russia on retail trade in nicotine-containing and nicotine-free liquids and devices for their delivery (vapes).
