Mehl explained that Norway previously had a measure that allowed refugees to receive economic assistance if they refused to stay at reception centers.

)... which means that new arrivals from Ukraine will receive a place in a refugee reception center until they may be resettled, and if they want to live privately in admission phase, then they must pay for their accommodation,” RIA Novosti quotes her.

In addition, the authorities will no longer organize the keeping of pets at the refugee reception center. 

Norway also proposed reducing economic assistance to spouses and cohabitants without children and introducing a requirement to reside in the country for at least a year in order to receive benefits upon the birth of a child.

Politico previously reported that Ukraine is asking the EU to tighten migration rules for the return of refugees.

Estonian Interior Minister Lauri Läänemets said that the issue of the possible return to Ukraine of Ukrainian citizens of mobilization age living in the country is complex.
