Charles Michel previously said he would leave his post in the summer to become a member of the European Parliament. As the Politico portal wrote, Michel thus angered the leaders of European countries by discussing his resignation plans only with French President Emmanuel Macron.
Three weeks later, he abandoned his plans to run for the European Parliament and decided to remain in his post.
