In the Lipetsk region, a case was opened after a car hit three pedestrians

This was reported in the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs group on VKontakte.

“A criminal case has been opened against the driver who hit three pedestrians in the city of Lebedyan under paragraph “a” of Part 4 of Art. 264 of the Criminal Code of Russia,” the message says.

According to the department, on the evening of January 28, the driver was driving a Kia Rio and hit a pedestrian who was on the so-called traffic island separating traffic in opposite directions.

After hitting a person, the driver continued driving and hit two more pedestrians near a public transport stop. As a result, one person died and another was hospitalized.

It was established that at the time of the accident the driver of the foreign car was intoxicated. 

Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Health announced the evacuation of two children injured as a result of an accident in the Sverdlovsk region.
