The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) considered the ruling coalition’s call in Israel during a conference yesterday, Sunday, to annex the West Bank and Gaza “a revelation of the hidden intentions to implement the crime of displacement and ethnic cleansing against our people, and a disregard for the recent decisions of the International Court of Justice, which demanded that it take all measures to stop the genocide in Gaza.”

In a statement on its website, Hamas called on the international community and the United Nations to take a firm stance and condemn this conference, as it is based on the idea of ethnic cleansing, and to take the necessary measures to protect the Palestinian people in implementation of the decisions of the International Court of Justice.

12 Israeli ministers - some of them from the Likud Party led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu - and more than 15 Knesset members participated in yesterday's conference on returning settlements to Gaza, amid calls from participants from far-right supporters to "displace" Palestinians from the besieged Strip.

Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir said in a speech during the conference, "I am addressing you from this podium, Prime Minister. It is time to return home to Gush Katif and North Shomron. It is time to encourage Palestinian migration, and it is time for victory."

Yesterday, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry condemned the conference, and said in a statement, “The colonial meeting in Jerusalem is a blatant challenge to the decision of the International Court of Justice, and a public incitement to forcefully displace Palestinians.”

It is noteworthy that the United Nations considers settlement activity in the occupied territories illegal, and calls on Israel to stop it, but to no avail, warning that it undermines the chances of resolving the conflict in accordance with the principle of a two-state solution, Palestinian and Israeli.
