The corresponding statement was published in the Telegram channel of the Russian Embassy in Washington.
The diplomatic mission emphasized that today in American journalistic and sports circles there is an atmosphere of gloating over the Russophobic decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport to disqualify Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva for four years and deprive her of awards for allegedly using doping.
“Local authorities do not shy away from outright pressure on sports structures...,” the embassy said.
Previously, CAS disqualified Valieva for four years for violating anti-doping rules.
Later it was reported that Valieva’s awards have been canceled since December 25, 2021.
In addition, WADA stated that it welcomes the decision of CAS to suspend Valieva for four years.
