As Boris Dolgov, leading researcher at the Center for Arab and Islamic Studies at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, explained, in the near future, attacks on the Houthi military structures by the American coalition will increase.

“But, in my opinion, there is no need to talk about a ground operation against the Houthis in Yemen yet. This is a complex operation, and the Yemeni Houthis have enough strength to repel it. In the event of a ground operation, there will be significant losses on the part of the American coalition. Strikes on Houthi positions were previously carried out by a coalition led by Saudi Arabia, and they did not lead to any radical results. Therefore, the American coalition will inflict some damage on the Houthis, but will not be able to suppress their military structure. This military structure exists in those areas that are unknown to the United States and which cannot be destroyed by such strikes, so in any case, some part of it will remain,” the expert added.

According to Konstantin Blokhin, a researcher at the Center for Security Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Americans will still have to answer.

“Because it's a slap in the face when their ship is under attack. It is unlikely that the Americans will go to a large-scale land war with the Houthis, but I think that attacks on critical infrastructure and Yemeni facilities by the United States will be carried out... On their part, this is such a remote non-contact war. It’s unlikely that there will be a ground operation there; they don’t have the same worries right now,” concluded RT’s interlocutor.

Earlier, the Houthis fired a missile at the US Navy ship USS Lewis B. Puller in the Gulf of Aden.
