According to the newspaper, the German defense plan assumes that Germany will be assigned the role of not a front-line, but a transit country through which equipment and weapons will be transported, as well as allied troops passing through.
The publication also points out that Germany's key problem is the shortage of bunkers. Therefore, civilians will be involved in the construction of shelters.
“There are only 579 bunkers in Germany, so citizens will have to build their own shelters (e.g. basements, garages),” the article says.
Earlier, the MDR portal reported that Germany is creating a new defense plan with an emphasis on deterring the enemy.
