Units of the Moroccan army in collaboration with local authorities intercepted a total of 1,110 migrants who wanted to cross into Spain, in several operations carried out in the northern towns of M'diq and Fnideq and Nador, near the Spanish cities of Ceuta and Melilla.

These operations were carried out on the night of Sunday to Monday by members of the Army, local authorities and the Forces of Order, in which they intercepted and drove away groups of migrants from these areas near Spanish cities, according to a statement from the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR).

The same source detailed that in Nador, units of the Moroccan Army intercepted a total of 175 migrants of different nationals (Algerians, Moroccans, Tunisians and Yemenis).

In addition, these FAR units, together with local authorities, detained and removed a total of 935 migrants who were preparing to leave Morocco for Spain in several operations in Nador, in the north-east of the country near Melilla, and in M'diq (Rincón) and Fnideq (Castillejos), near Ceuta.
