Majority of young Americans between 18 and 24 support unconditional ceasefire in Gaza (French)

The Israeli newspaper The Jerusalem Post published the results of a poll showing that a majority of young Americans between the ages of 18 and 24 adopt non-pro-Israel and sometimes anti-Israel attitudes.

The results of the poll, conducted by the Harris Institute and the Center for American Policy Studies at Harvard University and among two thousand American voters of different age groups, showed that 51 percent of young people of this age group believe that the long-term solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is to "end Israel and hand it over to Hamas and the Palestinians."

While a majority of Americans support Israel in its war on Gaza, according to the poll, 67 percent of these young people support an unconditional ceasefire that would release detainees in Gaza and leave Hamas in power.

Asked if they believed Hamas was a negotiable organization to achieve peace, 76 percent of Americans ages 18 to 24 said they thought it could be negotiated.

The findings also showed that a majority of Americans between the ages of 18 and 24 and between 25 and 34 believe Israel is committing genocide in Gaza.

According to the same poll, 67 percent of respondents in this age group believe that Jews are "unjust" and should be treated as such.

Fifty-three percent believe calls for the "extermination of Jews" should be allowed, the Jerusalem Post reported.
