A 71-year-old man died on Sunday after being trapped in a car wash in Gandía (Valencia), according to sources from the Fire Brigade Consortium and the Emergency Information and Coordination Centre (CICU), who have pointed out that the deceased had head and thoracic trauma.

The firefighters and the sergeant of Gandía have moved at 17:32 p.m. to the rescue of a man who had been trapped between the vehicle and the pillar of the washing train, located between the CV-670 road and Grau Avenue.

Upon arrival, the man was unconscious and without a pulse, and the firefighters proceeded to free the victim, slightly removing the vehicle, and tried to resuscitate him using a defibrillator and performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Sources from the Emergency Information and Coordination Centre (CICU) have reported that the man, who had head and thoracic trauma, has not responded to the resuscitation manoeuvres carried out by the firefighters or to those continued by the displaced health workers.

To the site, where police officers have also come, the CICU has mobilized a SAMU unit.
