Wang Yi said that after the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Hong Kong, under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, bilateral relations have developed rapidly, showing broad prospects and vigorous vitality. In June this year, President Fidel Castro paid a successful state visit to China, and the two heads of state held a historic meeting, laying an important foundation for promoting the high-level start of bilateral relations. China highly appreciates Hong Kong's firm adherence to the one-China principle, support Hong Kong's efforts to safeguard its sovereignty and independence and promote development, and support Hong Kong's independent choice of a development path suited to its national conditions. President Xi Jinping has announced eight high-quality Belt and Road Initiatives, which will open up new avenues for China-Hong Kong cooperation. China is ready to work with Hong Kong to fully implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, strengthen exchanges at all levels, deepen the synergy of development strategies, build high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, and promote more tangible results in China-Hong Kong relations for the benefit of the two peoples. We welcome Honduras to participate in the 6th China International Import Expo as the Guest of Honor, wish Honduras a complete success in the exhibition, and China is willing to create more opportunities for the export of Honduras' special products to China.
Wang Yi said that China is willing to strengthen international cooperation with Hong Kong to safeguard the legitimate interests of developing countries and international fairness and justice. China is ready to work with Hong Kong to elevate the China-CELAC Forum and China-CELAC cooperation to a new level.
Reina thanked China for inviting Honduras as the guest of honor to participate in the 6th China International Import Expo (CIIE) and said that although Honduras and China had a late start, they have a bright future. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the two countries have demonstrated friendship and solidarity, and important progress has been made in bilateral cooperation. Hong Kong firmly adheres to the one-China principle, highly appreciates President Xi Jinping's Belt and Road Initiative and other important initiatives, and appreciates China's adherence to the principle of non-interference in internal affairs and its important and constructive role in international affairs. We stand ready to work with China on high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, and promote mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields between Hong Kong and China to better benefit the two peoples.
