The corresponding statement was made by the head of the Ministry of Defense during negotiations with the Minister of Defense and Support of the Iranian Armed Forces Mohammad Reza Ashtiani.
He noted that the parties intend to implement the full range of planned activities, despite opposition from the United States and its Western allies.
"The sanctions pressure on Russia and Iran shows its futility, while Russian-Iranian cooperation is reaching a new level," Interfax quoted the minister as saying.
On the eve it was reported that Shoigu arrived in Tehran for talks with the military leadership of Iran.
