For weeks, she has been campaigning for the concerns of the last generation, consciously with her profession and name: Chiara Malz, 32, is a police chief inspector at the Federal Police in Rostock. And active among the climate activists of the Last Generation. According to information from the dpa news agency, this commitment could now have consequences. Accordingly, disciplinary proceedings have now been opened against Malz.

According to Malz, he is responsible for the exchange between the activist group and the police. According to her own statements, she has not been present at road blockades either for business or private purposes.

»The exchange takes place in both directions«

The »Welt am Sonntag« had reported that there was a working group »Police Networking« within the Last Generation movement. The network extends across several federal states and authorities and is constantly expanding," Malz told the newspaper. In addition to her, seven other officials are active in the narrower network of climate activists. "We are in contact with 80 to 100 other police officers," Malz said. The policewoman takes care of networking and explains police work within the last generation. »The exchange takes place in both directions.«

Malz's employer, the Federal Police, did not want to comment on the disciplinary proceedings that had been opened. A spokesman for the Federal Police Headquarters in Potsdam said in response to a dpa request: "For reasons of personal data protection, the Federal Police cannot comment on ongoing personnel processes". This applies both in this case and in the case of federal police officer Claudia Pechstein.

The speed skater Pechstein had appeared at a CDU event in June in her police uniform. The "Bild" newspaper reported three weeks ago that the Federal Police were initiating disciplinary proceedings against Pechstein. It will be examined whether she has violated the Civil Service Act. There was no "permission or permission to wear uniforms" for the CDU convention. Pechstein also did not make it clear in the speech that it reflected a "purely personal view".

In his speech to the CDU, Pechstein had demanded, among other things, the deportation of rejected asylum seekers and justified this with more security in everyday life. In her speech, she made derogatory and generalizing remarks about foreigners. The appearance caused outrage, Pechstein was accused of populism.
