A 17-year-old girl from Rome, Michelle Maria Causo, has been murdered and stuffed into a garbage bag. Her killer then put her inside a shopping cart and abandoned her near the containers on Via Stefano Borgia in the Italian capital. The police arrested on Wednesday afternoon a boy of the same age, originally from Sri Lanka but naturalized Italian, who they are questioning.

The alarm went off around 16:00 p.m., when a passerby noticed that the young man was pushing the shopping cart with the package inside. He became suspicious and decided to call the police. Officers immediately opened the bag and found the girl's body. It is unclear when the 17-year-old Roma girl was killed, who had left her home a short distance from where the body was found. The young woman attended the public school of Via Pietro Maffi.

Before long, police arrived at the building where the murder allegedly took place, on nearby Via Giuseppe Benedetto Dusmet: blood stains were found in the hallway and on the stairs.

Investigators from the mobile brigade and the Primavalle police station are conducting investigations throughout the area, together with the scientific police. Residents of the building and numerous witnesses are being questioned. The motive for the crime or what kind of relationship there was between the two boys is not yet known.

In the evening, Michelle's friends and schoolmates also arrived at the scene. "She was in my class, she was a quiet girl," one of them said. Many of the girl's friends arrived at the scene, along with some parents. We heard the news, but at first they didn't know who he was," says one mother.
