This was announced by the acting governor of the region Vladimir Saldo.

"On the morning of June 10, more than 6 thousand people were evacuated from the flooded territories of the Novokakhovka city, Aleshkinsky and Hola Prystan municipal districts of the Kherson region, including 235 children and 81 people with limited mobility," he wrote on Telegram.

Saldo noted that more than 1.7 thousand evacuees were resettled in temporary accommodation centers, 32 people were hospitalized.

Earlier it became known that the number of residential buildings flooded due to a dam break at the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station in the Kherson region increased to almost 22.3 thousand.

The mayor of Nova Kakhovka, Vladimir Leontiev, announced the start of work on pumping water from basements in the city.
