The police were alerted to an address in central Växjö at 02.18. There they find a man with a stab wound who is taken by ambulance to hospital. The man must be seriously injured, according to Region Kronoberg.
The police have cordoned off the area around the crime scene.
"This morning, a technical investigation is underway. So far, we cannot say whether the incident took place inside or outside a restaurant, says Jimmy Modin at the police command center.
Two men arrested
Later that night, two men were arrested near the crime scene.
"A patrol working on the case later found two people a short distance from the scene. When the signal they received on the perpetrators matches, they are arrested on the spot.
The two men, who according to police are in their 25s and 30s, were later arrested on suspicion of attempted murder or manslaughter.
