Some people think that when Vox lost the south she lost the north, but Macarena Olona (44) seems to have found herself on the Camino de Santiago. "I walked using my right foot and my left foot," she said excitedly at a meal with the Club de Periodistas Gallegos in Madrid in October 2022, after returning from the Xacobea route. Since he changed the fumes of the Congress for those of the botafumeiro, he rooted himself to Galicia and the spirit of subeibaja of its people.

"I know that the next legislature will not be a matter of acronyms. It is not a question of left or right, but of good and bad," he said months before announcing Caminando Juntos, his newborn political party. It was precisely in search of this goodness in unexplored ideological paths when Olona came across David Romero, a Galician feminist and republican who dazzled her with his idealism and convinced her with his actions.

David Romero is the candidate for whom Olona "would vote if there were open lists", also his cicerone in the Vigo night and his faithful squire on Twitter. The state lawyer has been for months the favorite arroba of Davizz66, the alter ego of this man who became popular for renting his apartment at a ridiculous price. 500 euros in the heart of Vigo for a family that needs it and does not want to charge more.

"I don't want to make money, it's empathy," he explained about this decision on La Sexta Noche. Other media such as La Voz de Galicia told his particular story: "What I want is for these people to have a life project and be able to live. They're under 30, they're young, and they're charming. They are also two workers." The apartment, a family inheritance, has been rented to the same people for three years. To which he only asks to be taken care of.

These statements unleashed applause from the public and brought tears to the networks. Soon, her solidarity action went viral until April 18, 2023, when an Olona in full emotional effervescence dared to publicly reveal her friendship with David, whom she met through the news: "See you on April 29 at the Choco Festival. Morriña de Galicia".

Said, done and stretch. After leaving Madrid at 6 in the morning and giving a conference in León, the Valencian arrived in Vigo that night. During that weekend, he enjoyed the landscapes, climate and local cuisine. But, above all, he had fun with two unexpected friends for his audience: Basilio Aragón and David Romero. Both tweeters, alternative, popular and left-wing.

The first, known on Twitter as @bulldog_punk, is a truck driver with a punk aesthetic who decided to give politics a chance. Especially after observing the opening of this after years corseted in the speech of Vox. "Out of curiosity I would not mind sitting with her and explaining to me what this change is about," he revealed at the time. In those months, a different Olona was already perceived: combative towards ad hominem fallacies towards left-wing politicians and more open towards the LGBT collective and feminism. Like the time he defended Yolanda Díaz against those who criticized his photo by giving himself a pedicure. Or when he was moved by J&B's ad starring a trans actress.

But dinner with Olona was expensive. Not by the restaurant account, but by the Twitter. Thousands of furious comments made him have to leave the social network a few days later. Previous threats to his wife and son.

David Romero is also attacked, but he is not deterred. The tweeter, who defines himself without doubt as "republican, feminist and always anti-fascist", has never hidden his complicity with the former deputy. "Out of the trenches, normal people," that was the message Olona launched in a photo published on April 12 where they leave having a few drinks while looking into each other's eyes.

It wasn't his only image alone. On May 27 they were photographed on the beach: she with a Marvel jersey, Carla Toscano style and he of the Chicago Bulls, capital style. They also surprised with another photograph in front of protest posters of May 1, in Galician.

In addition to walking with Olona on the beach, David Romero is known in Vigo for being the drummer of Zona Zero. A rock metal quartet with influences from punk and other hard styles.

Months before meeting Macarena Olona, Romero uploaded an image with a T-shirt that read: "Fuck Vox." The archivists of the Twitter newspaper library usually remind her of this, along with some insults dedicated to her now friend. "That he had called me illiterate? That he has never voted for me? Now I would not vote for myself in that party either," she settled herself. Making it clear that neither he treats drumstick nor she will return with Abascal.

"I don't talk about my personal life, I'm so sorry," Macarena Olona kindly replied to LOC when asked by Davizz66. Being both attractive and of the same fifth, on Twitter began to insinuate that between them there is something more than friendship. As what the bird says is not a source and David Romero has not agreed to speak either, we do not know if between me likes and arrobas they have also stolen the heart.

From Olona's loving and family past it is known that she had a serious relationship with a young and handsome civil guard, father of her son Diego, born in November 2019. They have been separated for a long time.

The politician, who went through a childhood of troubles, lost her father, Pablo Olona, on March 9, 2022. He was not a very present figure in his life, but he loved him and this news affected him. Those who did accompany her are always her mother, Toñi, and her sister, Lucía. Beyond men, they are the women of his life.
