• Ukrainian War The chess of the counteroffensive: Ukraine moves the tab

Ukraine on Tuesday accused Russian forces of blowing up a dam in a part of southern Ukraine they control, warning residents living downstream on the Dnieper to evacuate because there could be flooding.

The Ukrainian Interior Ministry has asked residents of 10 villages on the right bank of the river and parts of the city of Kherson to gather essential documents and pets, turn off their appliances and leave, while warning of possible misinformation.

Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, said in a video posted on Telegram shortly before 7 a.m. that "the Russian army has committed one more terrorist act," and warned that the water will reach "critical levels" in a matter of five hours.

Wagner boss calls Russian balances of enemy casualties "lucubrations"

The head of the Wagner military group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, on Tuesday described as "speculations" Russian reports that he has inflicted massive damage on Ukrainian troops in recent days.

"These are nothing more than speculations," Prigozhin said in a Telegram message.

Russia's Defense Ministry said Monday it had halted a Ukrainian offensive and killed 1,500 soldiers and destroyed 100 armored vehicles.

Killing 1,500 soldiers in one day "is quite a massacre," said Wagner's boss ironically.
