During the summer, the general store almost doubles its clientele thanks to tourism. This also increases the number of bath-dressed guests and this has led to the country merchant Pär Renevall establishing a dress code in the store.

"We notice every summer that some people come in and don't think about it. You should go in and shop a little after the beach and come in as you are.

Swedish tourists are the most naked

Pär Renevall says that there are rarely problems with asking customers to put on more clothes. During the summer, when the tourist flow increases, foreign tourists usually understand the shop's "etiquette".

"We have a lot of tourists from Germany, Denmark and the Netherlands, and we haven't seen any problems at all. But it is mainly the Swedish tourists, says Pär Renevall.

Emergency solution with personal shopper

No customers will be turned away from the store, but they will be asked to put on more clothes. Should a customer not be able to get dressed before entering the store, Pär Renevall is willing to help take out the goods.

"They can shop anyway, but we can help. Tell us what you need and we'll put it together, and they'll shop outside. That's how we've solved it in previous years and it's a few times they happen.
