In 1981, two leading tennis women came out, constrained and forced. Billie Jean King, the legend of women's tennis, first: she goes public with her homosexuality while a former lover threatens to reveal their affair. And a few months later, Martina Navratilova, who had discussed her sexuality in an interview "off" that should never have been released. These coming-outs were not without consequences for both players, especially with sponsors. But they helped move the lines and paved the way for dozens of tennis women, from Amelie Mauresmo to Daria Kasatkina. Women's tennis has become a pioneering sport in terms of tolerance and acceptance. On the men's circuit, on the other hand, the situation is quite different...
