On April 19 this year, a woman died during a shift when she was hit by a train at an unguarded level crossing in Fu outside Mora.

The incident has raised questions about stress among home care workers. They believe that the municipality's minute control does not take into account unforeseen events and traffic situations that may arise.

Divided opinions

Bert Persson (C) understands that there may be problems with the system that the municipality works with, but believes that detailed minute control is important for the municipality to be able to guarantee care.

"It is not my view that this is a pervasive problem. We can only solve this through dialogue between employees, managers and planners," says Bert Persson.

Politicians react

The Social Democrats have submitted a proposal to abolish minute control. Instead, they want to introduce trust-based governance, which means that staff have the confidence to make independent decisions.

"Introducing trust-based governance instead would lead to more qualitative care and a better work environment," writes the Social Democrats in Mora.
