Beijing, 6 Jun (ZXS) -- Li Hui, special representative of the Chinese Government for Eurasian affairs, disclosed in Beijing on 2 June many details of his visit from China to Ukraine and other countries. He said that the most intuitive feeling is that transportation is inconvenient, and he once took nearly 6 hours by train from Kiev to Warsaw.

On the same day, the China Public Diplomacy Association held a special briefing on "Linjia No. 7 Salon", at which Li Hui introduced the relevant situation of his visit to Ukraine, Poland, France, Germany, the EU headquarters and Russia, and held discussions and exchanges with Chinese and foreign journalists.

Talking about the intuitive feeling of this visit, Li Hui said that compared with the past, the most intuitive feeling is that the transportation is inconvenient. There are no direct flights to Ukraine this time, and Ukraine is in a period of flight ban. "We flew from Beijing to Dubai and from Dubai to Warsaw."

Li Hui said that because there was no direct train ticket from Warsaw to Kiev, he arrived at the border by car at 12 o'clock in the middle of the night, and then took a direct train from the border to Kiev, which took nearly 14 hours. "When we came back, we bought direct train tickets from Kiev to Warsaw, and we took a total of nearly 18 hours, just like the Chinese people say the green train, which stops every 15 to 20 minutes."

Li Hui further said that due to the suspension of flights between Europe and Russia, when leaving Brussels at the end of the visit to the EU headquarters, he had to fly from Brussels to Istanbul and then fly to Moscow, which took nearly ten hours, detoured through Istanbul, and did not rest all night.

Li Hui said that transportation is indeed very inconvenient, which is also the most intuitive embodiment of the impact of the Ukraine crisis on the economic and social life of various countries. Transportation is only one aspect, Ukraine, Russia and European countries, which used to have very close economic, cultural and social exchanges, are now many artificially cut off. The greatest damage to interests is not other countries far across the ocean, but Ukraine, Russia and European countries.

Combined with the experience and feelings of this trip, Li Hui pointed out that the longer the crisis drags on, the greater the sacrifice and the greater the price that Ukraine, Russia and Europe will bear. Getting out of the crisis as soon as possible is beneficial to all parties, and this is also the starting point of China's efforts to promote peace talks. "In order to make persuasion and talk effective, these twists and turns we have experienced are nothing."

In addition, in response to whether China will continue to mediate the Ukrainian crisis, Li Hui said that the goal set by China is to persuade peace and promote talks, promote the easing of the situation, and achieve a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian crisis as soon as possible. "This is the first time we have contacted all parties to understand their positions and basic situation, and we will carefully sum up and study them, and decide the direction of work and specific measures for the next step according to the development of the situation and the reaction of the international community."

"It can be said that China is willing to actively consider sending people to relevant countries again to communicate on the political settlement of the Ukrainian crisis, and China is willing to maintain contact with all parties in this regard." Li Hui said, "According to the general expression habit of Europeans, this is the first time we go, but not the last. (End)
