It was around 07:30 a.m. that the police received an alarm about the aggressive man. Once on the scene, there was an uproar, which led to one police officer being injured.
"In connection with the intervention, a police officer was beaten with a weapon. That officer had to seek medical care, says police spokesman Mats Eriksson.
The suspect later collapsed and was taken to hospital, while the scene was cordoned off for forensic examination.
Got CPR on site
Police later announced that the man had died. Relatives have been informed and the incident will now be investigated by the Special Prosecutor's Office.
"The man has chased someone and scared people. We go to the scene and try to get control of the man. He went into cardiac arrest, CPR was started by the police and emergency services and he was later pronounced dead, says Mats Eriksson.
