The role of the leaders of Podemos in the electoral lists has become one of the thorniest issues in the negotiation between Sumar and the fifteen parties that aspire to converge. More so after a figure as prominent as Alberto Garzón, federal coordinator of IU, has announced this Friday that he renounces to repeat to make way for a "renewal of faces." A gesture that puts all the pressure on people like Irene Montero, Ione Belarra and Pablo Echenique.

A few hours after knowing the news, the leader of Sumar, Yolanda Díaz, has transferred to Montero and Belarra the "question" of whether or not they should go on the electoral lists, leaving their future within Sumar in the air. Well, he has done so, in addition, immediately after praising the decision taken by Garzón, as well as that also expressed by Ada Colau, who a few days earlier had communicated that she does not want to make the leap to Congress either. The difference is that the still mayor of Barcelona has never been a deputy or has occupied exit positions on the lists.

In a press conference at the Ministry of Economy, Díaz has refused to "reveal anything" about the state of the negotiations, although he has declared himself "optimistic" because "without a doubt there will be an agreement" because the country "is waiting for them".
